Policy Dialogue on “Water & Women”

Dear friends
For all those working in the water sector, it is common knowledge that there is clear water and women nexus. This impacts many aspects of their lives, not the least of which are health and education.

Many tiered interventions are needed to assure them of access and quality of water.

U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) Jamshoro in collaboration with Centre for Social Change (CSC) organizing a policy dialogue on

“Water & Women” Does Water Sector Development Have A Gender? On Wednesday, August 15th, 2018 @ 10-30 AM

The purpose of dialogue is to get engaged with women who have been involved in this sector including grassroots community interventions to quality research, so there can be a sharing of the ideas with a broader audience of students. Faculty members and water sector related other stakeholders.

This is very encouraging that from Pakistans National Water Policy 2018 to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both at national and international levels, all documents have recognized the importance of women role and participation in all water-related issues.

This dialogue is proposed to develop a space where students can Interact and exchange ideas with special reference to the issues of women of Sindh’s rural and urban areas including water for agriculture and safe water for drinking.

This is so encouraging that the speakers of this dialogue are the women, who have done a lot for the promotion of gender perspective in water sector issues and highlighted water and women.
