Workshop on Use-Inspired Climate Resilience Research in Sindh and Balochistan at USPCAS-W, Mehran UET
Workshop on Use-Inspired Climate Resilience Research in Sindh and Balochistan started today from 3-7 July 2023 at U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water, Mehran UET, organised by Dr Steve Burian, University of Alabama (UA), Dr. Michael Barber, University of Utah (UU) and Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
The workshop aims to build the capacity of three universities, including the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam and Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro.
The workshop series will be strengthening teaching, research, and outreach in climate resilience. The proposed project will fulfil the teaching and research goals by initiating new and accelerating ongoing efforts related to curriculum reform involving infusing climate resilience into courses at the three Pakistani HEIs. Working with the project team, faculty at all three HEIs will investigate new tools for exploring climate feedback mechanisms in the water/energy/food nexus to provide applied research answers to complex sustainable agriculture in Balochistan and Singh.
