U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) hosted a Quality Assurance and Accreditation Awareness Seminar for Environmental Science, delivered by Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Secretary NAEAC, HEC, Islamabad.
Dr Ghaffar, accompanied by the Director of USPCAS-W, Prof. Dr Kamran Jan Ansari, visited the state-of-the-art laboratories and witnessed the quality of education and research projects the National Water Center is carrying out.
The main objective of this presentation was to explain the overall accreditation process and its significance in maintaining the quality of education, as well as ensuring compatibility with international standards, norms, and accreditation trends. Dr. Ghaffar discussed the Accreditation Councils in Pakistan, their purpose, and the quality assurance system. He emphasized that quality assurance in higher education is essential to fulfil the minimum expectations of stakeholders.
Additionally, Dr. Ghaffar elaborated on NAEAC Best Practices and evaluation criteria of the accreditation process. Students and faculty members of USPCAS-W actively participated in the seminar, gaining valuable insights into accreditation processes and standards.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with Dr. Ghaffar.
