Seminar on Treatment of Industrial Wastewater using an Innovative Membrane Bioreactor held at USPCAS-W
U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology Jamshoro held two Project Completion Seminars on “Treatment and Reuse of Wastewater of Fish Processing Industry” and Eco-Innovation in Textile Processing Industry of KITE for Sustainable Product Processing” on Friday, 27th September 2019, jointly presented by Prof. Dr. Zubair Ahmed Projects PI & Dr. Tanvir Ahmed Technical Expert and Assistant Prof. at USPCAW.
Muhammad Waseem Vohra from FPCCI was the chief guest of the seminar whereas Prof. Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar Deputy Director at USPCASW and Dr. Kamran Soomro Professor at USPCASW spoke to the participants of the seminar.
The project about “Treatment and Reuse of Wastewater of Fish Processing Industry” was targeted to estimate the pollutant load of shrimp processing industry and to develop the wastewater treatment techniques by which the quality of water could be improve for effective re-utilization within the shrimp processing industry and compare the environmental damages caused by the current processing system and those with the addition of a wastewater treatment and water reuse system in the existing processing system. Principal investigator for the project was Prof. Dr, Zubair Ahmed whereas Dr. Asmatullah was Co-P.I and other team of USPCASW students includes; Barkatullah Kandhro, Kiran Memon, Suresh Kumar and Kashaf Koonj Soomro.
At the end of seminar, shields and certificates were presented by the chief guest, Muhammad Waseem Vohra to P.I., Co-P.I and research team members.
