The World Bank delegation visits USPCAS-W for the Sindh Water and Agriculture Transformation Project
A delegation from the World Bank, led by Mr Greg Browder, Global Lead (Water) TTL SWAT, along with Mr Joses Mugabe, Practice Manager (Water) for South Asia, and Zelalam, WRMS, Mr. Nazeer Essani Memon, Project Coordinator PCMU, Ahmed Junaid PM-FAO, Ghulam Hyder, Director PCMU, and esteemed Irrigation Department Officials, made an insightful visit to the U.S.- Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) under the Sindh Water & Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) Project.
Prof. Dr. Kamran Jan Ansari, Director of USPCAS-W, MUET, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided a comprehensive presentation on the cutting-edge facilities and strengths of USPCAS-W. Dr Ansari also shed light on the ongoing activities, consultancies, and research endeavours at the Center.
Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice-Chancellor of MUET, expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s visit and emphasized the potential collaboration between the World Bank and academia in addressing various challenges and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The mission revolved around discussions related to the establishment and implementation of the Hydro Agro Informatics Program, with a focus on its objectives and design phase. The delegation conducted a thorough evaluation of the capabilities of USPCAS-W and lauded the continuous efforts of the Center.
The meeting brought together a gathering of esteemed expert faculty and staff, concluding with an interactive brainstorming session, which promises innovative solutions in water and agriculture transformation.
