Mr. Khalid Latif conducted a graduate seminar on “Laboratory Safety and Security” at ORIC MUET Jamshoro
Mr. Latif highlighted the importance of security in general and behavioral security in particular. He said that the faculty and students have to take precautionary measures while conducting scientific experiences by using an equipment in the laboratories. He said they must be well aware for what they are going to experience and its pros and cons.
He said that researchers who involved in the laboratory work borne a big responsibility and must have to abide by a voluntary code of conduct based on the recognized principles and values.
Mr. Latif said that since the scientists’ security and safety is very much important, they must develop the environment-friendly and safe laboratory habits while using laboratory apparatus.
The seminar followed by the question and answer session in which the faculty and students of USPCASW participated. The speaker replied their questions and queries pertaining to the laboratory safety and security measures.
Dr. Kamran Ansari, Deputy Director USPCAS-W introduced the speaker and invited him to conduct the session while Dr. Bakhshal Khan Lashari presented the souvenir of the Center to the speaker.
Speaker’s Profile:
Mr. Khalid Latif is Founder and Technical Director of KL – TECHNICAL & HSE SERVICES, A dynamic entity, with vision and mission to develop “Human Factor in Safety” in Industry and academia. He earned Master’s Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from University of Karachi.
He possesses strong business acumen and expertise in co-ordination with Production, Engineering, QA, HSE, and Sales/Marketing and Supply chain for manufacturing operations.
He participated in various professional training courses and medium term assignments/ project from Manufacturing facilities of parent companies in Europe and Asia Pacific countries. Done professional courses and management trainings for various Institutions including Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan Institute of Management, American Management Institute, Institute of Business Management etc.
During his professional career, he achieved success in lowering cost and improving delivery of products to the customer using moderns supply chain concepts including JIT, QOTIF, Vendor development and evaluation on the basis of their cost and efficiency.
