Hydro-Agro Informatics: USPCAS-W Hosts SWAT Committee Meeting
Today marked a significant milestone as USPCAS-W hosted the fourth meeting of the committee responsible for implementing the Hydro-Agro Informatics Program under the Sindh Water & Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) at the U.S.- Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water, Mehran UET.
The meeting saw the participation of various experts from diverse departments, including Mr Muhammad Idrees Khoso, Additional Secretary (Technical) Agriculture Department; Mr Nazeer Essani Memon, Project Coordinator PCMU, P&D; Mr Ghulam Ali, The Project Director of SWAT Project (Irrigation) GoS; Dr Liaquat Ali Bhutto, PD SWAT (Agriculture); Mr Zareef Khero, Chief Engineer, Irrigation Department, GoS; Mr Ghulam Hyder, M&E, PCMU, P&D; Mr Habib-Ursani, CMIDC, SWAT, SIDA; Dr Abubakar from WIT, LUMS; Dr Imran from NED, and other esteemed officials.
Prof. Dr Kamran Jan Ansari, the Director of the National Water Center (USPCAS-W), took the stage to present a concise overview of the design of HAI-Program Phase-1 activities. Dr. Ansari shared insights into the program’s objectives, scope, methodology, and work plan. Mr Naeem Dal from USPCAS-W delved into the data centre infrastructure design and management and decision support system planning and design, emphasizing the required technology, agility framework, policies, and compliance with privacy regulations.
