Exchange Students on Field Trip at AVRC, Colorado USA
A group of USPCAS-W MUET exchange students at Colorado State University (CSU) visited Arkansas Valley Research Center (AVRC) at Colorado State, USA. The student cohort comprising Mr. Aqeel Ahmed Sahito, Mr. Nabeel Ali Khan, Ms. Uroosa Memon, Mr. Nadir Ali Nizamani, Ms. Nageena Makhdoom guided by Prof. Dr. Allan Andales of CSU, went in two-day field visit where they were trained for installation of Data Loggers, using EM38 Instrument and learned about soil conductivity. The students were of the view that by learning this, they can install the same like data loggers in Pakistan to check Evapotranspiration, Soil Moisture by establishing Water, Salt, and Temperature Monitoring Station. During the two-day field visit, they also visited greenhouse in AVRC and the filed where the drip system was installed. The students also met their CSU counterparts who are working in the related research fields.
On the similar project, “Use of Multi-Level Remote Sensing to Evaluate Salinity on Irrigated Lands”, Dr. Jose Luis Chavez from CSU, USA and Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal from USPCAS-W MUET, Pakistan, are working.
