
FAO Pakistan Team Visits USPCAS-W to Discuss ACWA Portal and Hydro-Agro Informatics Collaboration
A team from FAO Pakistan, including Dr. Rubina and Dr. Muhammad Azmat, visited the U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) at Mehran University. The purpose of the visit was to participate in a collaborative meeting with experts from the CEGIS team in Bangladesh and the USPCAS-W team. The discussion focused on the ACWA Portal and its alignment with Hydro-Agro Informatics (HAI) initiatives.
A highlight of the meeting was a comprehensive online presentation by Mr. Fabio Grita from NFOW. He discussed key technical features of the ACWA Portal and shared lessons learned, challenges encountered, and insights gained during its development. Additionally, he outlined upcoming features and ideas for future enhancements.
Mr. Jiro Ariyama, Technical Advisor for Water Management at FAO, joined the meeting online, and officials from the Agricultural and Irrigation Departments attended the meeting. The session explored potential synergies between ACWA and HAI, emphasising the importance of integration, collaboration, and opportunities for future development.
