UNIDO Officials Visit National Water Center, Explore Collaboration Opportunities
The National Water Center U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) had the honour of hosting distinguished officials from UNIDO, including Mr Igormalgrati, Consultant; Mr Farooque Hussain Siddique, National Technical Advisor; Mr Minar Thapa Magar, National Coordinator for SHRRP; and Mr Adeel, SHRPP official. UNIDO is spearheading the Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development Across Rural Sindh (PAIDAR) project, a five-year initiative funded by the European Union to support the Government of Sindh’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).
Accompanied by Prof. Dr Kamran Ansari, Director of USPCAS-W, and Dr Tanveer Ahmed, Assistant Professor, the UNIDO delegation toured the Center’s state-of-the-art laboratories, including the Advanced Water & Wastewater Quality Control Lab, Pilot Scale Water & Wastewater Treatment Lab, Soil & Water Analysis Lab, and Hydraulics Lab.
The visiting officials were highly impressed by the Center’s facilities, cutting-edge equipment, and the impactful research being conducted. Engaging in discussions about ongoing and completed projects, the delegation expressed keen interest in potential collaborations and MoUs aimed at upscaling and commercializing the Center’s projects.
The visit also included an interactive meeting, with the participation of Dr. Rizwan, Dr Naveed Qambrani and Dr. Sara Hassan, Assistant Professors at USPCAS-W, further strengthening the prospects of future cooperation.
