2nd Two-Day Young Researchers’ National Conference on Water and Environment (NCWE-18) to be held on August 02-03, 2018 at U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) Jamshoro. Essani, Vice Chancellor MUET Dr. Mohammad Aslam Uqaili, Project Director USPCAS-W Dr. Bakhshal Khan Lashari, Dean Architecture and Civil Engineering Dr. Khan Mohammad Brohi, Deputy Director USPCAS-W Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar, Conference Convener Dr. Kamran Ansari will speak in the two-day Conference. More than 55 young researchers belong to KTH Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm, Sweden, National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad, University of Gujrat, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), University of Sindh (UoS), USPCAS-W MUET will present their research papers on water governance, water and health, irrigation water management, crop water productivity, integrated water resources management, sustainable groundwater management, flood forecasting and river engineering, water quality and scarcity, waste management, environment policy and economics, water sanitation and health science, urban water supply and demand, climate change impacts and adaption, soil salinity, waterlogging and drainage and other related thematic research areas of water and environment.
The United States Government and Government of Pakistan have partnered together to establish a state of the art Centers for Advanced Studies in Energy, Agriculture and Food Security and in Water. MUET Jamshoro was selected for water Center financially supported by the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), technically assisted by the University of Utah, USA. MUET National Water Center is dedicated to resolving Pakistan’s water crises through providing world-class education in different water-related disciplines, undertaking applied & policy research; developing specialized human resources and technical capacities, and promoting academia-industry collaboration. In preparing the next generation of water sustainability leaders, the Center encourages female students and researchers to take advantage of the opportunities being offered in the Center. The Center also focuses on achieving targets of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) – 06, by ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
