1st Meeting of Executive Council of Society for Women Engineers Held at MUET
First meeting of executive council of Society for Women Engineers in Pakistan held on Sept 6, 2016 at Department of Chemical Engineering, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) Jamshoro. President of the Society Dr. Khadija Qureshi – Professor of MUET Chemical Engineering Department, Vice President Ms. Shabnam Baloch – Gender & Communication Expert of U.S.- Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water, Media Coordinator Ms. Nafisa Zaki – Assistant Professor of Telecommunication Engineering, executive members Dr. Attiya Baqai- Assistant Professor of Department of Electronics, Ms. Yasmin Zafar-Assistant Professor department of Basic Sciences & Ms. Sahiba Thaheem from English Language Development Center of MUET participated in this meeting.
The meeting aimed at planning of oath taking ceremony of the executive body and outreach efforts within MUET and other Engineering Universities in Pakistan.
Society for Women Engineers (SWE) founded in 1950, is a not-for profit educational and service organization in the United States with members from different countries across the globe. SWE is the motivating force that inspires women to choose engineering as career aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders in this area.
