International Women’s Day 2016!

MUET and USPCASW collaborated to celebrate International Women’s Dayat MUET where more than 500 girls and women faculty staff from MUET & neighboring universities participated. Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Ms Malala Yousufzai addressed the audience through a video link and congratulated the University on this event and motivated the students to pursue excellence in education. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Uqaili highlighted the importance of girls’ education and their contribution to society. Society of Women Engineers (SWE) was also launched on this occasion.

The discussion involved feedback from female students regarding their experiences a girl student during first semester at USPCAS-W and suggestions for the improvement of overall gender outlook of the center and GEP Implementation.

Consultative Workshop -Gender Equity Policy-MUET

Gender Equity draft for MUET was developed and reviewed by stakeholders from academia, technical experts, MUET faculty, and Civil Society Organizations. The draft policy was presented to the neighboring universities including University of Sindh Jamshoro and Liaquat University of Health and Medical Sciences Jamshoro. University of Utah was equally involved and gave the final review to document.

Social Tea with Girls students & Women faculty Members of USPCASW

Participants: 12 female M.S students and 4 women faculty members of USPCASW, Director USPCAS-W Dr. Bakhshal Lashari, Chief of Party Dr. Aslam Chaudhry, and Gender & Communication expert Shabnam Baloch.Objective: To initiate a network between females of the center, encourage female students to share their feedback and concerns, motivate them in advancing the gender equity agenda, and develop women specific outreach program.
