UNICEF Delegation Visits USPCAS-W to Explore Collaboration on WASH and Climate Change

The U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) had the honour of hosting Ms. Cindy Kushner, (Chief of WASH, Climate Change, Environment and Energy), along with a distinguished delegation comprising Itsuro Takahashi, (Wash Manager), Irfan Durani, (Wash Officer), Pir Bux, (WASH & CEE Officer), and Zahida Jamali, (WASH & Climate Change Specialist) from UNICEF.

The objective of the visit was to explore avenues for collaboration in WASH and climate change, particularly in research, field surveys, innovative solutions for safe drinking water and sanitation, and capacity building.

During the visit, the delegation toured USPCAS-W’s state-of-the-art laboratories and was briefed on ongoing research projects and initiatives. Prof. Dr Kamran Ansari, Director of USPCAS-W, delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the Centre’s portfolio, achievements, research contributions, innovations, community services, and collaborations with government and non-governmental organisations.

An interactive meeting with the Director and faculty members provided a platform for meaningful discussions on current initiatives and future partnerships in water management, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability.
