Strengthening WASH Sector Capacity: UNOPS Teams Up with USPCAS-W
We were thrilled to welcome a project delegation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to the U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) at MUET, Jamshoro.
The UNOPS team met with Prof. Dr Kamran Ansari, the Director of USPCAS-W and faculty members to conduct a strategic Capacity and Training Needs Assessment (CNA/TNA). This consultation is a key part of their initiative, “Improved Access to Water and Sanitation Services in KP and Sindh, Pakistan.” The collaborative discussion focused on validating critical WASH training streams (Project Cycle Management, O&M, and HSSE standards), identifying local sector knowledge gaps and leveraging USUSPCAS-W’s advanced laboratories and pedagogical expertise for practical, hands-on learning.
During their visit, the delegates toured USPCAS-W’s state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities, exploring ongoing projects and research that highlight the center’s contributions to the field of water and sanitation.
At the conclusion of the highly productive session, Director USPCAS-W presented traditional center souvenirs to the distinguished UNOPS guests as a token of appreciation and a symbol of our shared commitment to sustainable institutional capacity building.
