HEC Chairman Visits U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W)

The U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) had the privilege of hosting Prof. Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (SI), Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.

The visit was accompanied by Prof. Dr Tauha Hussain Ali (Vice-Chancellor, MUET), Prof. Dr Aneel Kumar (Pro Vice-Chancellor, MUET), Prof. Dr Kamran Ansari (Director, USPCAS-W), the Deans, Registrar, and esteemed faculty members.

During the visit, the Chairman toured USPCAS-W’s state-of-the-art laboratories and was briefed on ongoing research initiatives and the Center’s academic and research portfolio. He appreciated the Center’s significant contributions to advancing water-sector research, innovation, and capacity development in Pakistan.

A highlight of the visit was an engaging interaction with Ms Cindy Kushner (UNICEF Chief of WASH, Climate Change, Environment and Energy) and USPCAS-W faculty, fostering meaningful dialogue on future collaboration and sustainable solutions.
