A delegation of resident directors, general managers, and representatives of Matol (Pvt) Ltd., Unicol Limited<\/a>, Habib Distillery<\/a>, Al-Abbas<\/a>, Shahmurad<\/a>, Dewan<\/a> and Pak Ethanol Distilleries<\/a> visited USPCAS-W and held a meeting with the management of Center. Project Director USPCAS-W Dr. Bakhshal Lashari represented the USPCAS-W team whereas Engr. Dost Muhammad Baloch represented industries delegation as a focal person. Dr. Lashari said that we are going to engage our experts for treatment of wastewater issues of various industries and can seek help from University of Utah, USA. He said that the treatment of effluent is a challenge for all of us and it is a positive move that the industry is approaching academia to provide solutions for these problems. The team of water experts from Center led by Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar and Dr. Naveed Qambrani gave a presentation regarding the process and treatment of spent-wash produced by the distilleries. They informed the delegation that the center will conduct research and suggest a suitable and cost-effective treatment of spent-wash to enable it to become compliant to the National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQs).
