National Women’s Day Celebrated On Tuesday 12th February

Pakistan’s National Women’s Day was celebrated by Sindh Commission on the Status of Women (SCSW) at Arts Council Karachi, as a remembrance of the historical struggle of Pakistan’s women against oppressive laws and to honor the advancement of the Women’s Movement. An award ceremony was conducted for the achievements in the fields of education, health, law, science & technology and literature. Panel discussions, speeches and performances were held during the day-long event. Businesswomen also showcased their products and services on stalls.

A team of students and faculty members of U.S. Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W), MUET led by Dr. Arjumand also participated in the event and stalled in which the printing and promotional material was distributed. Further, the women from different regions of Sindh were informed about the admission policy, eligibility criteria, scholarship opportunities, research facilities at the Center. Additionally, the team shared about MUET gender policy and facilities at Women Resource Centre.
