1. Call for Concept Notes for Research Grant Program in Water 2016-17

The goal of the USPCAS-W Research Program is to stimulate competitive and innovative applied research that is multi-disciplinary in nature and developed within the broader context of the water-development nexus to support the achievement of sustainable development goal on water. To this end, key features of the applied research agenda include:

  1. Overcoming water scarcity
  2. Developing and maintaining water infrastructure
  3. Improving water quality
  4. Improving water use efficiency and agricultural productivity
  5. Enhancing access to drinking water and sanitation
  6. Bridging disparities in access and coverage
  7. Reversing groundwater depletion
  8. Reclaiming degraded lands
  9. Strengthening water governance
  10. Improving performance of water utilities
  11. Protecting water ecosystems

Announcement of short listed proposals: 30 November 2016
Submission of detailed research proposals: 31 December 2016
Announcement of selected proposals: 20 January 2017

2. Applied Research Grants in Water: Call for Proposals 2015

The U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) is pleased to announce Call for Proposals to undertake applied research in water-related issues. During 2015-16, a total of three grants of up to Pak Rs 3 million each will be funded under this call covering the following themes: (i) overcoming water scarcity, (ii) improving water quality, (iii) strengthening water governance.
